Why one more blog? This blog is to give a voice for a positive look at what one can do to help the education in our schools. Our schools are facing increasing pressure from high stakes testing, No Child Left Behind and increasing cost and decreasing revenue. Where does that leave our children that will be our leaders of tommorrow? Are they getting lost in the politics and infighting in Washington and the state capitals across our land? Sometimes we forget what the main reason for the schools existing is…if it is not to impact the lives and to educate the children then we need to relook at who our politicians are and work on voting them out and replacing them with people that will keep the main thing the main thing. If the main thing is helping students then this blog will provide individual steps toward improvement. Many politicians, educators, union officials, PTA officials and parents have said that there must be changes in the schools but few have provided solutions. Many want sweeping changes made with large brush strokes. That leads to chaos and ineffectiveness plus little progress. Therefore this blog will attempt a different approach …a new step forward. As the old saying goes, "inch by inch life is a cinch, yard by yard life is hard"! Join me three times a week to consider what we can do with leadership and education to take a new step!
